Melbourne University Orientation Camp (O'Camp)
O’Camp is a first year camp held on the weekend before O-Week and is the absolute best way to start your University life. Held at Licola Wilderness Village, it is open to first years from ANY course. Meet 200+ new first years and leaders from older year levels, swim in a river, party all night (and day) and make sure you jump into your Uni life surrounded by familiar faces! This is the largest first year camp The University of Melbourne has to offer and is definitely something you won’t want to miss; trust us, you’ll be jealous if you do!
O-Week Party
O-Week Party is best event to party with new students, make some new memories and make some new friends. Our O-Week Party is the single biggest party at The University of Melbourne during O-Week and is A CANNOT MISS event for new students and old students alike! Tickets are an absolute no-brainer at $15 a ticket.
SSS Pub Night (feat. Regoonion)
An amazing night at a local pub in the Parkville area. Meet some awesome new people, share your funniest (or dirtiest, your choice really) O-Camp and O-Week stories or just kick back and relax, have a drink and make some new friends.
We organise multiple pub nights every semester so follow our socials to stay up to date!!
Costume Cruise
Hop on the Victoria Star and set sail around the waters of Melbourne in costume (of course) with 350 others! Shake it up on the dance floor, grab some cheap drinks or just enjoy the beautiful Melbourne bay. What’s better than knowing the bouncer’s cannot throw you out of the venue? (literally…) A sell out event ever year, cruise is always a fantastic event, so make sure you get in quick to score yourself a ticket!
End of Exams Party (EOX)
Semester is done! Exams are over! What else is there to do besides celebrate? The Science Students’ Society hosts the University of Melbourne’s best End of Exams party. We pride ourselves on running a great event with cheap entry, great drink prices, the University’s best DJs and energetic students ready to party all night! All in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Science Students’ Society’s university renowned Semester 2 Cocktail Night returned in 2022 at Melbourne’s beautiful Spice Market. Featuring a live jazz band, free-flowing alcohol, and an energetic after party, Cocktail Night shapes up be one of the must-attend events on the University calendar.

Fortnightly BBQs
Our BBQs are held on the University of Melbourne’s beautiful South Lawn every fortnight! Enjoy our sausages (vegetarian available), hash browns and drinks galore. Come and join us on alternating Thursday’s between 12-2pm to get a good feed in between lectures. Relax on South Lawn with great company and beautiful weather. All BBQs are completely FREE to members of the Science Students’ Society.
Kegs 'N' Sun
On the last Friday before the mid-sem break and end of semester the Science Students’ Society celebrate with ‘Kegs N Sun’. Our university-famous BBQ’s are back, this time with the added benefit of Carlton’s famous KEGS. Beer and Cider alongside our usual assortment of BBQ food and drinks is free to everyone! Our usual vegan and vegetarian options are also available! See you all there.
